Vitiligo patients face dry eye syndrome along with other eye health risks. Significant differences were seen in vitiligo patients who underwent the Schirmer test, which determines if the eye produces enough tears for proper moisture.
Patients with vitiligo should be aware of the diet they get. Diet plays a critical role in treating the condition. If a patient with vitiligo is suffering from a deficiency of protein, calcium, copper magnesium and many other micronutrients which are essential for health, they should take enriched foods in their meals.
